The Vines

OUR VINEYARDS

Our wines are made from premium fruit grown only in the world-renowned appellation of Margaret River.

The vineyards include Rivendell Estate in the premier northern sub-region of Yallingup, to parcels sourced from selected growers in the celebrated vineyards of Willyabrup to the cool climate and extraordinary gravelly soils of Karridale, to the far south.

Each lending their unique terroir and microclimate to the extraordinary wines they create, yielding premium and super-premium ranges of exceptional quality - always varietally correct and unmistakably Margaret River.

THE OLD RIVENDELL VINEYARDS


There are two Vineyards on the estate. The ‘old-vine’ Cabernet Vineyard is situated in a sheltered valley, overlooking the Leeuwin- Naturaliste ridge, protected from the strong winds and capturing the morning sunlight with the northeast exposure allowing early ripening. This, combined with free draining granite and laterite gravel soils creates a perfect microclimate for growing and ripening premium Cabernet grapes to their fullest flavour.


The 30 year-old vines are hardly prolific, producing fruit at less that 4 tonne to the hectare – but what they lack in productivity, they more than make up in super-premium quality.
